Portland Oregon - PDX - is in a magic period of creativity in contemporary art. Small enough that artists can collaborate, cooperate and dialog, large enough to have a critical mass of artists, cheap enough that studio space and housing isn't too expensive, friendly too! Art here can stand on its own in any major art city in the world. This is a tribe for announcements of art openings and shows of contemporary painting, sculpture, installation and for artists to meet.

This tribe is accessible at portlandcontemporaryart.tribe.net if friends outside tribe need to know. When it is accessed that way, reviews and requests appear in line with the topics, for that reason, I'm going to exercise my moderating role and remove them, likewise for any posts from 0 friend identities. But I would encourage people to use topics for reviews of contemporary art shows and events. Requests art related are fine too!
